Environment Court Waivers and Directions

A 30 working days period to appeal decisions made on the proposed Te Tai o Poutini Plan began on 10 October 2025.
The appeals process is a formal one run by the Environment Court.
Following an application to the Environment Court, some special procedural arrangements in relation to service of appeals on the proposed TTPP have been granted.

Following an application from The New Zealand Royal Forest and Bird Society, the Environment Court has granted waivers to extend the appeals period on the TTPP decision version to 8 December 2025, and the period to join an appeal as a s274 party has been extended to 19 January 2026. 

On 13 January 2026 the Environment Court approved a request to extend the period for receiving s274 applications by two weeks, closing on 2 February 2026.
